Now that Christmas is upon us so rapidly, the focus has been heavily on ensuring all those orders are completed and delivered, so it has been very much a case of nose to the grindstone, and will be for the next 2 weeks as well.
However, in the midst of this busy time, I received the fantastic news that an image I entered into the BIPP South West Awards for 2013, won the Portrait Category. Thoroughly delighted is an understatement!
The winning image was one from a series that I took of a beautiful little lady last year in the stunning Berkeley Castle. These images have since contributed to my qualifications with the BIPP, which then resulted in me receiving the once in a lifetime "Highly Commended" in Peter Grugeon Award for Best Associateship.

However, this particular image I had kept back, maybe because it was always my favourite. I just always felt it had real strength on its own.
Yesterday, I was absolutely delighted to be visited at my studio by the president of the BIPP , Roy Meiklejon FBIPP , who I was able to show my winning image to and I was very honoured to be congratulated by him in person.
Very many thanks Roy for your time , and also to Paul Athey of The Lemon House Photography for at very short notice popping in to take some photographs for me , a lovely memento of winning something a couple of years ago I only dreamt of.
And of course endless thank you's to Miss Freya Ryland. A timeless beauty.
